FILMING TO BEGIN FROM AUGUST 25 IN LONDON

Mumbai: Every year the third Sunday of June is dedicated to fathers all around the world in many countries including India. ‘Father’s Day’ is celebrated to show respect and cherish the father figures in one’s life.

The narration of on screen fathers’ with various shades has won the hearts of cine-goers. Hollywood actor Will Smith won the Best Actor trophy at this year Oscars for his flawless portrayal in “King Richard”. The last edition of Filmfare Awards in 2021 saw the late Irrfan Khan being posthumously elected as the Best Actor for his sensitive, yet hilarious portrayal of doting father in “Angrezi Medium”. Similarly Shahid Kapoor’s performance in “Jersey” and Kanwaljit Singh in “Chandigarh Kare Aashique” amongst many others has been appreciated.

Versatile, talented and award-winning actor Rajpal Yadav a.k.a Rajpal Naurang Yadav has moved towards content driven movies that revolve around social issues. He has now joined hands with passionate filmmaker Apoorva Vyas to play a unique and interesting role of a father – the main protagonist in an international film titled “Father On Sale”. The film set in the backdrop of London is being made in Hindi/English languages.

Although Yadav found success in negative roles, he went on to become a prolific comic enthusiast too and following as the leading character in more serious films. In his latest release “Ardh” streamed on OTT platform – ZEE5, the actor has gone that extra mile where to fulfill his dreams and fighting for his survival, he pretends to be a transgender with the support of his wife. Prior to this he had a major release “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” where he was lovable as ‘Chota Pandit’ with his signature hairstyle.

“People enjoy characters they can identify with. “Father On Sale” is a universal subject. I believe acceptance with identification is the key to being appreciated. I am delighted and honoured to be telling it. It is about support, respect, love and communication which will give one a sense of belief”, reveals Rajpal Yadav.

Apoorva Vyas who after making meaningful regional films; especially on the ordeal of a father-daughter relationship is back with another heart whelming international film. Hailing from an illustrious filmi-background, Apoorva Vyas was a topper at the Royal Academy of Art and Drama (RADA) -the London Film School Academy, from where he hone the craft and skills. Apart from regional feature films, he had also added to his repertoire few award-winning short films and ad commercials.

Speaking about his upcoming film, Apoorva Vyas states, ”Father On Sale is the story of a father, the head of the family who is a mirror image of sacrifice.  The story and screenplay has all the commercial abilities with a well-defined mass appeal that will enhance the narrative of this film. It is a universal moving subject and I am sure every father across the globe will easily connect with it”.

An Indo-British collaboration; the film which is also dedicated to the evergreen and charismatic actor Dev Anand, is being made under the banner of Signature Cinema Makers and Indiam Global Entertainment. The UK producers are Kay Ajula and Jas Jutla. A 60-day shooting schedule will be held in the exotic and picturesque locales of London and other places in UK from August 25 this year. Apart from Rajpal Naurang Yadav, Manoj Pahwa and Hemant Pandey play key roles in this film. Other Indian actors including a new girl are also under finalization. The film will also feature British actors in its ensemble of cast. Hollywood cinematographer Wood Brothers are being roped as the director of photography.
